Lacoste has finally joined the ranks of various other retailers through partnering with Alipay. The brand is now officially teaming with Alipay and Verifone for its retail locations in the U.S. to help improve an overall customer experience.

With this new partnership with Alipay, a popular mobile platform established in China, Lacoste can now allow its tourist customers and easier, more efficient form of shopping. By tapping into their demographics, it's likely that Lacoste saw the benefit of adding this type of platform to their payment in order to enhance their customers' experience.

According to WWD, the new payment service will be effective in 16 locations in the U.S. “We take pride in appealing to international customers and continue to use innovative technology to improve the customer experience in our boutiques,” president and chief executive officer of Lacoste North and Central America, Joelle Grunberg, told the publication.

First established in 1933, the sportive lifestyle brand is known as a leading player in the retail market. Headquartered in Paris, the company retails womenswear, menswear, accessories, footwear, and more. With the new partnership with Alipay, it seems that the iconic brand will only strengthen its customer relationships. It'll be interesting to see if in 2018, the new payment service helps to increase sales for Lacoste.
