New York & Company to change name to RTW Retailwinds

Women’s apparel retailer New York & Company Inc. will be changing its name to RTW Retailwinds Inc. effective Monday, November 19, 2018. According to the company’s CEO, Greg Scott, the decision reflects the business’ growth and plans to expand its market share even more in the future. In addition to NY&Co, its portfolio also includes the brand Fashion to Figure and branded merchandise with actresses Eva Mendes, Gabrielle Union and Kate Hudson.
“RTW reflects our vision to maximize the power of our platform to create destination celebrity and lifestyle brand assortments across categories and channels”, he said in a statement, adding that NY&Co is soon to enter the lingerie category.
The company’s stock will begin trading under the new name on New York Stock Exchange from Tuesday, November 20. The name change does not affect the rights of company’s shareholders, customers or suppliers.
Founded in 1918, New York & Company operates 428 retail and outlet locations across the United States. Its celebrity collections are sold exclusively at these locations and online at nyandcompany.com.
