The Platform Group: nine-month revenue rises by 17 percent
Düsseldorf-based e-commerce group The Platform Group SE & Co. KGaA (TPG) has significantly increased its revenue in the first three quarters of the current 2026 financial year. In light of recent developments, management reaffirmed its full-year guidance on Thursday.
From January to September, group revenue reached 622.7 million euros (699.4 million dollars), exceeding the corresponding prior-year period by 17.1 percent. Gross merchandise volume (GMV) increased by 19.4 percent to 1.08 billion euros.
Gross margin decreased to 35 percent, compared to 36.7 percent in the prior-year period. Cost-saving measures included job cuts resulting from the increased use of artificial intelligence (AI) applications. These measures ensured that earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA), adjusted for special items, rose by 16.4 percent to 53.3 million euros. Reported net profit for the first nine months of the year reached 44.4 million euros, growing by 6.5 percent year-over-year.
Chief executive officer Dominik Benner expressed satisfaction with the recent performance. “In the third quarter, we achieved our growth target almost exclusively through organic growth, and did so profitably,” he explained in a statement. “At the same time, we have begun to reduce costs, decrease headcount and lower debt through our new group structure. We will continue on this path in the fourth quarter while seizing opportunities in the market.”
The latest figures gave management no reason to alter its existing full-year guidance. Consequently, the company continues to expect a GMV of 1.7 billion euros, revenue of at least one billion euros, and adjusted EBITDA of between 70 and 80 million euros for 2026.
