Van de Velde achieves revenue growth on direct-to-consumer momentum

Belgian lingerie group Van de Velde reported a 5.2 percent increase in reported revenue to 115.7 million euros (135 million dollars) for the first half of 2026, up from 110 million euros in the prior-year period. On a comparable basis, taking into account seasonal delivery shifts, consolidated revenue rose 4 percent to 116.6 million euros.

The growth was primarily driven by strong performance in the direct-to-consumer (D2C) channel. Comparable revenue in the D2C segment, which includes company-owned stores, webshops, and department store concessions, increased 15.2 percent to 34.2 million euros. Meanwhile, comparable B2B revenue remained flat at 82.4 million euros.

Operating profit before depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) on a comparable basis reached 28 million euros, representing an EBITDA margin of 24 percent. This compares to 28.4 million euros reported in the first half of 2025. The positive impact of top-line growth was tempered by temporary costs associated with product assortment expansion, production footprint diversification, and higher inventory write-downs. Net profit attributable to shareholders rose to 16.1 million euros, compared to 15.8 million euros in the previous year.

Van de Velde chief executive officer Karel Verlinde stated that the group's innovations are resonating with consumers and retail partners, confirming a return to structural growth. Verlinde noted it was a fitting moment to pass the torch.

Capital expenditure during the six-month period totaled 10.2 million euros, compared to 3.5 million euros in the same period last year. Investments were directed toward constructing a new logistics site in Wichelen, Belgium, and continuing the development of digital platforms. The company maintained a solvency ratio of 71.7 percent.
