Capsule and Liberty Fairs are planning to have their show dates run concurrent with NYFW: Men's.

The spring 2017 shows will run from July 10 to 12, while NYFW: Men's will be from July 11 to 14. Last summer, the trade shows occurred a week before men's Fashion Week.

Retailers have been requesting that the men's wear tradeshows in New York run simultaneously with the men's wear schedule of presentations and runway shows, similar to how they do in Paris and Milan. Capsule's cofounder Deirdre Maloney believes this will make it easier for buyers and editors across the globe to attend both the tradeshows and New York Fashion Week:Men's.

“By running concurrently with NYFW: Men’s, Capsule can better support emerging fashion in New York and make the city more of a can’t‐miss men’s wear destination,” said Maloney.

For the second season in a row, Capsule and Liberty Fairs will be located next to each at Piers 92 and 94, and shared registration will be offered. This move does break up the traditional men's tradeshow circuit, as Mrket and Project will still be held from July 17 to 19.

Despite the dates for the tradeshows better aligning with NYFW: Men's, many editors and buyers are worried that this still won't leave time for them to attend both. The calendar of shows is already packed, and stacking the tradeshows on top of the runway shows doesn't help scheduling.
