After a fairytale collection, in the truest sense, for Spring/Summer 2016 – the theme was Alice in Wonderland – surprisingly, Essentiel Antwerp unveiled a comparatively simple yet in no way boring range for its Autumn collection.

The Antwerp-based label's impressive aesthetic can only be described as creating happiness. Cheerful all-over prints or subtle applications turn each piece into an eye-catching statement. Located in a Haussmann-style building that is almost surreally beautiful and in an equally phantasmagorical shop, the Essentiel Antwerp label has already proved its extraordinarily good taste in its choice of premises.

Founder Esfan Eghtessadi accepts no compromises – and not just in terms of his choice of company headquarters, but also when searching for his life partner. When the son of designer Nicole Cadine saw his future soul mate it was love at first sight. Together, they created the Essentiel Antwerp label in 1999, starting with four t-shirt designs in 20 colourways. A year later they opened their first shop in Antwerp: today, Essentiel Antwerp's ready-to-wear range is represented at points of sale in France, Belgium, Spain and even Korea. In 2004, the womenswear collection was complemented with a menswear collection. Since then, there has been a Beachwear/Lounge collection, as well as accessories and several capsule collections. We can therefore confidently speak about not just a love story, but also a success story.

You can find Essentiel Antwerp at Premium Berlin, located in Hall 7 Stand G-05.
