Fresh off the heel's of NYFW: Men's came the men's wear tradeshows: Liberty Fairs, Agenda, and Capsule. If there was one thing that was clear from these three tradeshows it's that streetwear continues to reign supreme. Brands like 424, Homme Boy, and This Is Not Clothing, proved that streetwear is the most major commodity in the American men's wear market right now, with offerings like sweatshirts, joggers, slim fitting denim, and graphic t-shirts as just a few examples of the multitude of offerings at these tradeshows.

This is Not Clothing, clearly took a page out of Neil Barrett's book and realized the power of a graphic printed sweatshirt. The brand is still completely original, however, as their designer, artist James Sutton, creates artwork juxtaposing contemporary culture and fine art to be printed onto ethical fair trade cotton. If there is one thing that this collection tells us it's that the days of the bland and simple in men's wear are gone.

Men's wear tradeshows follow NYFW: Men's, continuing the men's wear revolution

On the more classic side of things, brands like Hartford Paris and Cockpit were their representing a more luxurious aesthetic. Hartford brought their usual finely tailored shirts and printed patterns to this years Liberty Fairs tradeshow, and Cockpit was there with their signature armed forces style jackets that were made iconic thanks to the jacket they designed over twenty-five years ago for the cult film "Top Gun" starring Tom Cruise. While these tradeshows were all about men's wear there were a few women's wear brands there as well.

Brands like Cupcake Mafia were at Agenda to represent the women's wear market with their funky and campy women's wear styles with sporty jerseys, and other brands like Second/Layer were there to represent labels who were trending towards a non-gender bias form. More traditional luxury brands like Helmut Lang made their presence known at Liberty Fairs as well. The highlight of Liberty Fairs would have to be the mannequins featuring several looks from men's day last week during the first day of NYFW: Men's.

Brands including David Hart. Boyswear, CWST, Carlos Campos, Chapter, Eponymovs, Fingers Crossed, Garcia Velez, Kenneth Ning, Matiere, and PLAC all had looks they featured at Men's Day last week on display for those that may have missed NYFW: Men's but managed to make it the tradeshows. While this years tradeshows proved to be successful for many labels, a few have said that it is a more slow-paced energy from past men's wear trade show weeks and definitely a more calm vibe from the Vegas tradeshows, which are coming up in a few weeks.

Despite the different vibe compared to the Vegas tradeshows, many brands still found success at New York this week. "This season, particulary right now, has been a little bit slower, but the buyers are buying more, so the buyers we have seen have increased our numbers," a representative from Cupcake Mafia said.

As men's wear becomes a more powerful category than ever, the men's wear trade shows are sure to rise in prominence. This is certainly driving the tradeshows to be more competitive, but, it's also bringing out more buyers as well. 2015 continues to be the year of men's wear.
