As a way to celebrate the twinning between Berlin and Mexico City, 15 Mexican designers have been invited to participate in the DIME | Mexico Fashion Design Show during Berlin Fashion Week. The organisation Proméxico is arranging the exchange which aims to promote international trade. Designers Felina, Jorge Ayala, Kris Goyri, Mancandy, Mani Maalai, Marika Vera, Minhk, Ocelote, Pink Magnolia, Royal Dalia, Salo Shayo, Sangre De Mi Sangre, Simona, The Pack and Varon will be presenting their collections in the Me Collectors Room during a fashion show and will also be showcasing their items at Premium Exhibitions stands.

One particular highlight will be the Marika Veras label from the eponymous designer hailing from the Mexican capital. Before launching her own business, the graduate of the Istituto Marangoni London gained experience with Pauric Sweeney and Giles Deacon, along with French designer Vanessa Bruno. Her sexy designs – part underwear, part outerwear and very lingerie-inspired – have wooed many, among them celebrities such as Rihanna, Daisy Lowe, Jessie Ware, Naomi Harris and Emily Ratajkowsky. Her collections are produced in Mexico using quality materials, their minimalist sophistication a testament to the designer’s attention to detail.

The Mexican’s lingerie and bodysuits manage to be playful and yet never mundane; it’s almost a shame to wear them underneath your clothes. Fortunately, the label also makes outerwear that delivers a body-hugging fit that’s almost as snug as the brand’s dessous.

You can find Marika Vera at PREMIUM Berlin from 28-30 June in hall 7, stand A13.
