Vanessa Baroni – statement pieces from Stuttgart

As is so often the case prior to new brands being thought up, Vanessa Baroni just couldn't find the jewellery she was looking for. Having identified a gap in the market, she decided to take the matter in hand herself without further ado.

It had to be unique and on trend, but also based on a simple concept. For her jewellery label she therefore took inspiration from her travels, as well as from museum exhibitions and the international ready-to-wear fashion shows. This choice of sources of inspiration also, of course, influenced the selection of materials chosen. Vanessa Baroni works mainly with silk, leather, Plexiglas and thick metal chains.

Born in Stuttgart and with Croat roots, the designer loves the apparent two-dimensionality of Plexiglas and the bold, life-affirming aesthetic of the Seventies and Eighties. In line with this, her jewellery collection has become striking and expressive: statement gold chains are paired with coated aluminium and wrought metal – these are standalone designs that transform any outfit into a head-turner. Due in no small part to this factor, the young designer made it to the Premium Cubes, which are dedicated to showcasing especially talented work.

Before setting out in 2009 to work for herself in Stuttgart, Baroni gained extensive experience at DKNY, KCD Worldwide, Purple London, Wunderkind and Diane von Fürstenberg. Nowadays, her collection is on sale in over 50 sales outlets throughout Germany.
