Adidas launches PureBOOST X for women
Adidas's Ultra Boost running shoe proved be quite the hit for the company. Now, the athletic apparel company is launching a new running shoe for women called the PureBOOST X.
According to the brand, the shoe was designed specifically for women rather than being an adaptation of a style for men. The design team used state of the art motion tracking technology called Aramis to study how women move while running to create the shoe. The shoe features a unique floating arch made from adaptive stretch mesh.
Mikal Petevo, senior director of Adidas' Future Team, told Footwear News that "The most unique characteristic is we removed the bonding between the middle of the shoe, and what this does is create a skin-like fit. It allows your foot to have natural amazing movement."
The shoe is in the label's natural running silo, so it's made for a variety of runners.
The upper is paired with the brand's boosting cushioning technology, so the runner is provided with a greater energy return throughout the run. Another feature of the shoe includes a lockdown lacing system to provide an adaptable fit from heel to toe, and a Stretch Web outsole for flexibility throughout the foot so it can maintain its natural motion.
For those high-fashion lovers, Stella McCartney has collaborated with Adidas again to release a a version of the PureBOOST respectfully titled the Adidas by Stella McCartney PureBOOST X. Her version includes Primeknit on the shoes upper and extended lacing details.
The PureBOOST X will be released in three colorways: raw purple and shock red; black and shock green, and mineral blue and halo pink. The Stella McCartney PureBOOST X's will come in two colorways: dark blue and granite, and white and dark blue. The shoes arrive in stores next Monday, February 1. The PureBoost X will retail for 120 dollars, while the Stella McCartney PureBOOST X will retail for 170 dollars.
