Aerie launches Share Your Spark

Intimates brand Aerie just announced a new launch in order to spread body positivity. The loungewear brand will be launching part of its Share Your Spark campaign to empower women and help drive #AerieREAL.

The launch for Aerie comes at an opportune time, as it is aligned with the brand’s 10th anniversary. Also, #AerieREAL which started as a commitment for 100 percent unretouched models and a campaign for self-love, has been launched for over two years. The new campaign launched recently with a video that has over 40 Aerie girls spanning from bloggers, artists, fans, social media fans, and more. Some of the Aerie models participating in the campaign include Diana Veras, Eli Almeida, Annie McGinty, Amber Tolliver, Barbie Ferreira, and Fo Porter. The idea of the campaign is to bring a change to the fashion industry by using real women and encouraging positive body images. “[Aerie] continues to transform the industry by eliminating retouched photos and encouraging women to discuss important issues like body image, self care, and education, Aerie Real Role Model, Iska Lawrence, said in a statement. Lawrence is also featured in the Share Your Spark Campaign.

The brand branched off from American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. as its own intimates lifestyle brand. Aerie offers bras, underwear, swimwear, and more accommodating a wide range of sizes for all body types. The campaign is way for the brand to invite other Aerie customers and women to empower themselves by reaching out with this message. “It’s a message that resonates with our girls, and we’re so excited to give them a new way to join the movement with [this] campaign,” Aerie Global Brand President Jennifer Foyle said.
