Former Lanvin creative director Alber Elbaz could be the next big designer to join forces with fast fashion chain Uniqlo.

According to sources of Women’s Wear Daily, the Israeli designer is in talks with Uniqlo’s parent Fast Retailing regarding some type of collaboration, although neither party has chosen to comment.

Elbaz, who served as creative director of French fashion house Lanvin for fourteen years before being shockingly ousted from the house last October, has yet to make his next big career move. The beloved designer has not yet engaged in the game of musical chairs that is currently taking place in the world of high fashion. Meanwhile, he has been replaced at Lanvin by Bouchra Jarrar.

If Elbaz is indeed to collaborate with Uniqlo, he will be joining the ranks of the likes of Ines de la Fressange, former French Vogue editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld, and designers Christophe Lemaire and Jil Sander, who have all worked with the brand.
