New York-based brand Alice + Olivia recently modeled their newest capsule collection after an American rockband. After gaining inspiration largely from The Grateful Dead, the sophisticated brand came up with a new collection celebrating rock culture in the 1960’s.

The Palo Alto-based band gained critical attention for its eclectic music style using elements of rock, jazz, psychedelic, blues, and more. In the 57th issue of Rolling Stone magazine, the band was ranked 57th as one of “The Greatest Artist of all Time.” The band also was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. The contemporary clothing brand decided to model their collection after The Grateful Dead due to the designer’s personal tastes. The collection will range in price from 165 to 1,298 dollars ranging from skirts, sweaters, tank tops, shoes, and more. The collection will be available at Alice + Olivia stores across the U.s. and Asia. Also, the capsule collection will be available through the brand’s e-commerce site.

Stacey Bendet, designer of Alice + Olivia, was largely influenced by her husband, Eric Eisner, and his passion for the band. “My husband [ Eric] is a hugely passionate Dead fan, and his is the first film to have the entire band’s participation, with usage of their archived music and old footage,” Bendet told WWD. Her husband is in the process of producing an untitled Grateful Dead documentary of the band.
