UK online retailer Asos has launched Asos Adaptive, the brand’s first adaptive clothing collection aimed at disabled consumers. Developed in partnership with accessibility consultancy Tilting the Lens and co-created alongside disabled individuals, the 51-option range includes womenswear, menswear and curve styles.

In research conducted by Asos and Tilting the Lens, 86 percent of participants cited comfort and fit as primary purchase motivators. Style-led occasionwear was identified as a significant gap in the market.

Adaptive features integrated into tailoring and occasionwear

Designed for global availability, the collection offers statement occasionwear, contemporary tailoring and everyday essentials. Adaptive features integrated throughout the range include magnetic fastenings, discreet hidden zips, tube access points, concealed pockets and adjusted proportions tailored for seated wearers.

For womenswear, the range focuses heavily on occasionwear featuring fluid, draped silhouettes. Key items include a graphic-print mesh maxi dress with a concealed pocket beneath the front drape and side-seam tube access, an abstract-print sleeveless maxi with device storage, and a light olive tie-front dress featuring a fastening-free construction.

Tailoring for both womenswear and menswear includes cropped and collarless blazers, waistcoats, wide-leg trousers and classic suiting. Functional additions feature stretch linings, elasticated waistbands and magnetic closures. Selected trousers are constructed with a contoured waistband, higher back rise and shortened front rise for seated customers, while selected jackets feature reduced lengths and softer construction to improve ease of movement.

Everyday staples and pricing details

Everyday items in the range encompass smart shirts, knitted polos, moisture-wicking T-shirts and adaptive accessories. These incorporate wider necklines, hook-and-loop fastenings and stretch fabrics into classic designs.

“Asos has always been about helping customers discover the styles that feel like them,” said Vanessa Spence, executive vice president of brand and creative at Asos. “With this collection, we wanted to bring that same fashion-led approach to a category where disabled customers have historically had fewer choices.”

Sinéad Burke, founder and chief executive officer of Tilting the Lens, added: “True inclusion in fashion starts with co-design. By working with disabled people and embedding lived experience throughout the process, brands can create clothing that is not only more accessible, but more desirable, considered and relevant.”

Asos Adaptive became available globally on Asos.com as of September 24, 2026, with price points ranging between 32 pounds and 65 pounds (42.5 to 86.3 dollars).
