Baja East launches home collection

Baja East has launched Baja Home, a home goods collection which expands the brand's offerings beyond ready-to-wear. The new home goods offerings include duvet covers, pillows, and pajamas made with deadstock fabric from seasons past, cashmere throws, and candles + mists handcrafted in Joshua Tree.

“When I created Baja East I always wanted it to be a lifestyle brand, not just about fashion," said Baja East founder and creative director Scott Studenberg in a statement. "And throughout the years we’ve dabbled in cashmere throws and relaxed silhouettes, but never a full line like we’re offering now. I’m super excited to expand this part of the brand and hopefully our clients will be too.”

As ready-to-wear sales have taken a hit due to the coronavirus pandemic, brands would do well to focus on other categories for growth. A home goods launch couldn't have come at a better time for Baja East as more people are working from home than ever.

Retail sales did surge 17.7 percent in May, but it is a long road ahead for recovery. As coronavirus cases are actually spiking in some states, reopening plans are being paused. New York recently just entered phase one of reopening which sent construction and manufacturing employees back to work, and also permitted retail stores to begin doing curbside pickup.
