Barbour and Paul Smith renew collaboration for a third season

The collaborative collection between Barbour and Paul Smith is available from September 4 in Wp Store shops and on its e-commerce platform. The capsule collection comprises 38 pieces, including jackets and apparel for menswear and womenswear, accessories, and footwear. It explores the traditions and spirit of the Scottish Highland Games, offering a playful reinterpretation of British country style.

According to a statement, the new season centres on Paul Smith's reworking of two original and authentic Barbour tartans: the Classic and the Muted. In a reinterpretation based on Paul Smith's iconic bold use of colour, bright pinks, oranges and yellows replace the traditional shades of the two tartans, giving a new perspective to Barbour's heritage pattern. Throughout the collection, the tartans are featured on linings, trims, and statement fabrics.

Jackets remain a central element of the collaboration, with some iconic Barbour silhouettes reinvented with seasonal colours and new fabrics. Barbour's Beaufort jacket is updated with a large check pattern in merino wool. The design recalls both the Scottish heritage of the Barbour family and Paul Smith's tailoring influences with its characteristic overcheck details. Barbour's Transport jacket is updated in a charcoal mélange merino wool. Meanwhile, a deep navy velvet version of the Beaufort introduces a new texture to the line.

The collection also introduces two new seasonal colourways in a selection of classic waxed jackets: a rich, autumnal rust for the Beaufort and the Transport waxed jacket, and a deep bottle green for the Gamefair waxed jacket and the long Spey jackets.
