Recently, the city of Beverly Hills has been pushing for its shops to expand their operating hours. According to Apparel News, the city has "encouraged" boutiques stay open later.

The city created a new program for the cause, entitled B.O.L.D., which stands for Beverly Hills Open Later Days. The store hours will ultimately only stay open one to two hours later, closing at 8 p.m. rather than the normal 6 or 7 p.m. time slot. According to the publication, these hours would only take effect from Thursdays through Sundays.

According to the B.O.L.D website, it seems that these hours would only take effect for the summer, meaning the rest of August and possible into September. The program also arranges activities including musical performances and meet-and-greets. Because of the call-to-action of gathering people to the city, from a business standpoint its likely boutiques would benefit from the later hours.

Currently, the initiative is still in the works but boutiques have not confirmed their later hours. While the program may wrap up soon, it will start again in November. If the local retailers can decide staying open later will benefit, the city may effective change its boutiques' store hours.
