Bridal designer pairs with David Bridal for affordable line

Los Angeles - A luxury-design wedding dress company recently came together with designer Jenny Packham to create a harmony of intricately designed wedding gowns. Pennsylvania-based David Bridal paired with the British fashion designer for a new collection.

Together, the two created a more affordable wedding gown line. The new collection features wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses, accessories and more. The wedding-inspired collection will feature pieces for multiple participants of the wedding party including mother-of-the-bride, bridesmaids, maids of honor, and of course, the bride herself. Using the idealistic styles of Packham with David Bridal’s premium materials was a struggle due to the new price range of the collection. “The biggest difference is the fabrication and the budget,” Packham told WWD of the collection. However, although some of the fabrics may be different, the design element is still the same. “What’s attractive to us is that we can give more brides access to our designs, regardless of their budgets,” Packham told the publication. The pieces will be available through the retailer’s e-commerce site and in stores starting February 2016.

Packham is primarily known as a British fashion designer who creates ready-to-wear collections and bridal gowns. Her eponymous label launched in 1988 with a contemporary approach to bridal stylings. In additional to bridal, Packham produces ready-to-wear, resort, accessories, and lingerie collections. Packham also gained fashion acclaim when she dressed the The Duchess of Cambridge in 2011. The Duchess continued to wear the designer to various official engagements. Other high-profile clients of hers include Emily Blunt, Angelina Jolie, Taylor Swift, and more. Her collections are available at various stores including Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Harvey Nichols, and more. Packham currently has flagship stores and showrooms in various cities including London, Paris, New York, and Hong Kong.
