We’re only almost half way through the year and the It bag competition for 2021 is becoming a tough race already. Burberry has debuted its new Olympia bag with a campaign filled with famous stars and global pop-up shops.

The new leather shoulder bag comes in a crescent moon silhouette and first debuted at the brand’s fall 2020 runway show. It has slowly been making appearances in Burberry’s collections ever since, but now the big advertising push for the brand has begun. The new campaign features model Kendall Jenner, musician FKA Twigs, and British DJ Shygirl.

The campaign was shot by photographers Inez and Vinoodh, and was styled by newly appointed Dazed & Confused editor-in-chief Ib Camara. Burberry will also be rolling out its new World of Olympia pop-up concept to highlight the bag. The pop-up will stock exclusive colorways and can be found at some of Burberry’s top retail partners including Bergdorf Goodman and Harrods.

Accessories continues to be one the bread-and-butter categories at Burberry. While Burberry’s handbags are coveted, they don’t have a staple It bag the likes of the Chanel 2.55 or the Gucci Dionysus. This could be a big opportunity for the company to finally have a handbag that could achieve icon status.
