PVH has begun restructuring its Calvin Klein label after the company started a dismissal procedure at its Milan headquarters in Viale Umbria.

Shutterings its doors in Italy, where much of the luxury line 205W39NYC label under Raf Simons was produced, would be the start of a new chapter for the American brand. Earlier this year the New York-based company parted ways with Simons after lacklustre results from its runway collections and creative direction failed to resonate with its core customers.

The Milan office was always much more than a logistics hub for Calvin Klein, and in the past was an address for fashion shows and presentations. According to WWD, Calvin Klein in a statement said: "We can confirm that a collective dismissal procedure is underway (collective redundancy, ed) for some departments of the Calvin Klein office in Milan. The company is working to minimize the social impact of this procedure. We know it's a difficult time, but we trust in everyone's cooperation to find the right solutions for the employees involved ".

The redundancies could affect up to 50 people, some of which could however be transferred to the PVH's European headquarters in Amsterdam.
