Candiani Denim opens development center in Los Angeles

Candiani Denim is planning to open a development center in Los Angeles, a prime location for premium denim. The precise date of the opening is not yet determined, although according to WWD it is set for July.

Also according to the publication, the brand is opening the denim center in order to create a strong Los Angeles base. Los Angeles known as a prominent place for raw denim materials especially when it concerns premium denim textiles.

Candiani Denim was founded in 1938 as a premium denim textile establishment. The company is prestigiously known for its 75 years in the industry providing sustainable fabrics and successfully growing its enterprise. Originally created in Italy, the brand is moving its eco-friendly company to the West Coast.

Downtown L.A. is specially known for being the largest garment manufacturer in the United States making the city a denim haven for distributors. Mister Freedom, Self Edge, Dynamic Selvage Denim, American Rag Cie, Den.m Bar, and Full Package denim are just a couple of known manufacturers in the heart of L.A.

Candiani first established a relationship with Los Angeles by collaborating with nine students from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM). The process analyzed premium denim and taught FIDM students what it takes to qualify a denim at that quality. In improving its Los Angeles standing, the development center seems to be the next step.
