Last month, Classic Specs teamed up with Junk Food Clothing for a brunch and shopping experience in Venice, California. The event was on March 7 where guests could eat breakfast bagels while they shop. About 200 people showed up to the dynamic shopping event.

Junk Food Clothing is based in Los Angeles and known for its vintage apparel. Classic Specs is a New York based eyewear brand that sells prescription and non-prescription glasses. Although based in Brooklyn, the brand is intrigued by Los Angeles designers. The label told us, “Those creators, artists, and craft people in L.A. are the people we want to have a dialogue with.”

In partnering with Junk Food Clothing, Classic Specs stated that decision was because “we love what they do and we believe that working with local businesses helps support the unique shops that make a community special.” The NYC Bagel Brunch at Junk Food Clothing was a fun way for the label to share their products with customers in the L.A. area.

“Venice was a good fit for Classic Specs because, much like Brooklyn, it is a cultural hub for its city,” said the brand. In order to be create a conversation in L.A., the label chose Venice because its close to the creative heart of the city. Although the company hasn’t been actively looking, Classic Specs told us that they love the idea of partnering with local L.A. stores in the future.
