Los Angeles - The California Market Center (CMC) located in the heart of downtown’s fashion district has decided to create a fashion pop-up event for a good cause. On Friday, July 29, the CMC will be hosting a curated fashion event put on through a partnership with organization Wags and Walks.

Held in the Penthouse of the CMC in Los Angeles, the shopping event will include brands such as For Love and Lemons, The Beach People, For Better Not Worse, Dex, Spiritual Gangster, Vanessa Mooney, Kitsch, and more. The event will be entitled “Shop For A Cause” and will include contemporary apparel, accessories and lifestyle products for women, men, children, and pets. The CMC is known for putting on various fashion events and trade fairs throughout the year. The reason the building decided to partner with the organization is to help bring awareness to an issue and also be more active in the local area. "This is one more way for us to get more involved in our community, and finding a way to build awareness of overcrowded shelters and support dog adoptions through the fashion industry has been extremely rewarding for us,” said event producer Alyssa Olmstead, senior marketing and public/retail relations manager of the CMC.

In order to help support the organization, five percent of vendor sales will be donated to Wags and Walks. Admission for the event requires a five dollar cash donation for Wags and Walks. The shopping event will run simultaneously with a Dog Adoption Fair hosted by the organization as well. In the future, the building also plans to do more collaborations that are also helpful to the community. “We have received an enormous outpouring of support from notable companies who share in our desire to make a difference,” said Olmstead. “This is just the first of many more, new community events to come.”
