Converse first made a name for itself as a basketball shoe in 1917, with its Non-Skid, one of the first of its kind — in other words, one of the first sneakers designed specifically for basketball. Eventually, that shoe would become one of the brand’s most iconic styles, The Chuck Taylor All Star.

Over 100 years later, the Nike-owned American shoe brand is returning to its heritage in basketball in its announcement of the All Star Pro BB, a new basketball shoe designed for performance.

This new basketball shoe features Nike Quadifit mesh, similar to a modern canvas, according to a statement from Nike, as well as a drop-in Nike React foam core this is durable, lightweight, and responsive for quick movement on the basketball court.

The All Star Pro BB will be available May 2019.
