Cult Gaia, the LA-based brand made famous by Instagram and an It-bag, has moved from the smartphone to the runway. The brand showed its first runway show in a Malibu beach house designed by Frank Gehry.

Held over the weekend, the show was attended by a guest list filled with influencers and celebrities including Jessica Alba, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Olivia Culpo

“It’s such a beautiful backdrop, and I like using the contrast of architecture and nature as inspiration. LA is in our DNA. So much of our brand is built around the weather and lifestyle,” brand founder Jasmin Larian told the Hollywood Reporter.

Appropriate for the backdrop, Cult Gaia showed its resort collection, which is currently available to purchase. The collection is true to the brand's aesthetic, highlighted by an understated yet distinctive charm. Larian collaborated with Brazilian artist Lane Marinho for a series of one-of-a-kind prints that appeared on the flowing, textured clothing.

"We found inspiration in the rich colors and minerals of the earth," Larian said in a statement. "Making pieces that are perfectly imperfect, as nature dictates is what inspires me."

Insta-famous brand has an Insta-famous runway

Despite leaving the digital world in favor of the runway, Cult Gaia can't steer too clear from Instagram. The brand shared a series of videos of the exclusive runway show on its Instagram, so its 332 thousand followers could take part as well.

The six videos show the collection in full and give credit to all those involved in the presentation, plus reminded shoppers that the see-now-buy-now line was already available online. "Thank you to the Cult Gaia team and to all of our sponsors who made this magic possible," the brand wrote in a caption.
