Ellen DeGeneres launches lifestyle apparel brand

"I set out to fill a void in the marketplace of high quality, comfortable yet chic and easy-to-wear pieces with impeccable detailing,” said Ellen DeGeneres, talk show host of famed Los Angeles-based show “Ellen.”

The renowned comedian just recently launched a new lifestyle collection on Tuesday, June 30. The new collection features home, apparel, and accessories merchandise for customers. The entirety of the collection is inspired by DeGeneres’ iconic style, values, and personality. The collection is entitled ED, reflective of DeGeneres’ wife Portia de Rossi’s long-standing nickname for the entertainer.

Although clothes isn’t typically DeGeneres’ forte, the apparel blends tailored sensibility into a casual, everyday style. The celebrity clothing line seems to spark from her comfy, elevated style that she displays on her talk show. “That's what makes [the collection] so special and why I'm so thrilled my ED line is launching,” said DeGeneres. The launch of ED by Ellen marks a new career embark for the celebrity. J. Christopher Burch, chief executive officer of Burch Creative Capital and founding partner of ED said that the brand came together seamlessly with DeGeneres’ guidance. "Ellen's passion and keen eye for design inspired this entire venture, and she has been a wonderful and dedicated partner,” said Burch.

The pieces include outerwear, tailored separates, graphic tees, and knitwear. The fabrics for the collection include woven shirts, Italian fabrics, cotton French terry sweatshirts and more. The theme of love is present within the collection as the word “love” is embroidered throughout the apparel pieces. Other prevalent themes include “happiness” and “joy” which are also prevalent in the collection. The collection ranges in price from 25 to 396 dollars. The entire line launched July 30 and is available through DeGeneres’ e-commerce site.
