Fashion Nova x Cardi B line broke retailer’s sell-out record

Pop star Cardi B collaborated with the viral retailer Fashion Nova in a collection that set a new record for the retailer. Popular amongst Millennial and Gen Z shoppers, Fashion Nova has a strong history of celebrity collaborations, including lines created in partnership with Kylie Jenner and Khloe Kardashian.

The Fashion Nova x Cardi B line launched online at midnight on Thursday and sold out “within minutes,” according to Entertainment Tonight. About four hours after the collection was released online, Fashion Nova shared via Instagram that the collection was sold out. The retailer stated that this was a new record.

Both Fashion Nova and Cardi B have made it clear that the collection will be restocked, however there is no definite date set for items to be available. Still, Cardi B alluded on an Instagram post that products might be available again by Black Friday.

The collection encompasses 80 pieces, priced between 30 and 200 dollars, with an average price of about 60 dollars per item. The collection takes style inspiration from retro looks, and includes styles that the pop star would want to wear. “They are things that I see myself wearing, like in the ’60s and the ’70s,” Cardi B told Vogue. “I was thinking a lot about what would I wear in the fall time, like we have a lot of jackets, we have a lot dark colors, a lot of mustards, belting, a lot of blues. Nothing so bright.”
