Fitbit, the wearables brand, is launching a capsule collection of knitted wristbands for its Versa smartwatch. The collection is the result of a collaboration with the Council of Fashion Designers of America, which invited top emerging brands to submit accessory designs to be considered for Versa. PH5, a New York-based knitwear brand, was selected by both parties as the winner.

“I developed the accessories for Fitbit Versa to be fun and sporty, yet still be luxurious and convey and exclusive fashion statement”, said Wei Lin, founder of PH5, in a statement. A seven-time Ironman triathlete, Lin was inspired by her own love of fitness when creating the line.

“Working with PH5 on this project has been a lot of fun and I’m thrilled to see their Fitbit Versa Collection concepts come to life. Their truly innovative use of knit materials, playful colorways and overall designs are functional, sporty and sexy”, added Tim Rosa, Chief Marketing Officer at Fitbit.

Founded in 2014, PH5 is best known for its experimentations with knitting techniques. Liu is the daughter of a large knitwear manufacturer. Her partner, designer Mijia Zhang, won the Kering Empowering Imagination award in 2014.

Ph5’s knitted wristbands for Fitbit Versa are available for purchase at Target and Fitbit’s website. They retail for 39.95 US dollars each. More than 25 million people use Fitbit’s products around the world, according to the wearables company.
