Florsheim & Esquivel have announced their collaboration for the spring/summer 2016 season. For this season's collaboration, the duo has fused Florsheim's traditional feel with Esquivel's modern aesthetic to create a collection of suede oxfords for men and women.

“The seasonal change from winter to spring brings about a new approach to color. With a continued focus on craftsmanship, we’ve chosen a variety of bold suedes to compliment and refresh the classic wing tip and cap toe patterns from our fall collection. These spring styles emphasize texture, color and subtle details.” said John Florsheim, president and chief operating officer of Weyco Group Incorporated. “Esquivel offers edgy silhouettes in unexpected, color combinations that when joined with our expertise and long-standing heritage for handcrafted footwear, result in an extraordinary American made collaboration.”

The Florsheim & Esquivel collaboration was crafted at Esquivel's atelier in Orange County. Colors offered include pink, grey, blue, and white with turquoise stitching for women, and classic black, taupe, earthy beige and white for men. The shoes feature an asymmetric toe medallion of the letter E and F as an ode to the names of the the two brands.

Esquivel president, designer, and founder George Esquivel says he has dreamt of working with Florsheim ever since he bought his first pair of vintage shoes 24 years ago: a pair of pebbled leather Florsheim long-wings. He says they represent a piece of American heritage. For him, this collaboration is a celebration of American legacy.

Price points for the shoes start at 495 dollars. The collection will be available beginning April 18 on florsheimxequivel.com, and at the Florsheim boutique on 444 Madison Avenue.
