In Pictures: Issue Thailand brings native roots to LA

Los Angeles - At Los Angeles Fashion Week, designer Issue Thailand combined Buddhist elements with fashion on the runway. The designer brought unique, standout pieces to the Alexandria Ball Rooms in downtown L.A. last week as its first show in the city. Inspired by the philosophical concept of "compassion" as well as teachings by the Dalai Lama, the designer showed off contemporary pieces that well reflected his home country for his SS18 collection.

The collection will be released in a couple months in Asian markets through its online website. The designer, Issue Thailand, told FashionUnited that the label is moving to Los Angeles and U.S. markets eventually, but with no set dates in mind. Due to the climates and the locations of L.A. as well as N.Y., Thailand stated (translated through his translator Sayam Grimard) that the brand will be working towards expansion in the U.S.
