Izzy Camilleri relaunches adaptive apparel brand

Canadian designer Izzy Camilleri is relaunching IZ Adaptive, her ready-to-wear brand for adults with physical disabilities. First launched in 2009 and discontinued in 2016, the label comes back with a broader product offering and more accessible prices. The pieces are available at a number of retailers, including Zappos and Macy’s, from today.

“We’re looking forward to catering to both a new group of customers and our original audience”, said Izzy Camilleri in a statement. “As Zappos Adaptive expands our product offering, we want to continue to work with brands that understand fashion just as much as function”, added Derek Flores, Lead Buyer for Zappos Adaptive. “With much needed solution, from basics like tees, denim and coats, we know the thoughtful design and adaptive features of her pieces will resonate with our customer”, said Macy’s Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion, Kristyn Doar-Page.

IZ Adaptive’s debut collection features 55 pieces, including T-shirts, denim and jackets for men and women, as well as unisex options. Magnetic closures, elastic waist bands and open back tops are some of the changes which make the pieces easier to put on and take off for people with disabilities. Prices range between 25 US dollars and 425 US dollars.
