It's been three years in the making, but fashion and art destination Just One Eye is now a destination for surfers, and can add brand builder to its list of accomplishments. The collaboration between London-based designer Julien David and Southern California-based sports wear company Quiksilver was finally revealed, and it is certainly something unique. For the surf line, David was very eco-friendly in his design choices, using organic cotton, bio rubber, and polyester recycled from plastic bottles for the t-shirts, tuxedo-print wetsuits, and board shorts. It's an interesting juxtaposition compared to the 2400 dollar biker jackets he has from his own signature line.

Next up in David's series of collaborations will be a snowboarding line that will include heavy coats, hats, gloves, and backpacks that will hit stores next January. The current surf collection arrived just in time for David to put his designs to the test at the Coachella music festival, as he told Women's Wear Daily, "I'm going to wear the shorts for sure." Coachella, which has become just as much about the fashion as it has the music, is really transforming the way we think about fashion in relation to music.

All of young Hollywood is gathered in one place, and one big name star photographed in one t-shirt could cause that t-shirt to be sold out by tomorrow. Coachella speaks to the "Boho chic" style that was made popular by the likes of Nicole Richie and Rachel Zoe. Designers have begun responding to the power of music festivals and ensure that there is always something in their collection for events like these. Who knows what David could have ready for the next music festival season.
