Designer Kendra Scott was just awarded with the EY Entrepreneur Of the Year 2017 Award in Consumer Products and Retail. Founder and chief executive officer of her eponymous jewelry line, the designer won out in the category based on innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment.

The award, now in its 31st year, was selected by an independent panel of judges. Scott was presented with the award in Palm Springs this past Saturday, November 18. "I am incredibly honored to win the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Consumer Products and Retail category," said Scott. "I started the Kendra Scott brand with 500 dollars and a dream in Austin, Texas. I never could have imagined we'd be where we are today. I'm thankful to all of my customers and my team for helping turn this dream into reality. So much of our company's success is based on what our company stands for -- the three core pillars of family, fashion, and philanthropy. Staying true to these pillars has led to our success today."

Her namesake label was established in 2002 as a jewelry brand. The label has now transformed into a billion-dollar company with over 2,000 employees and 75 store. The company has donated over 3.5 million dollars to international charitable organizations. The company plans to give back 5 million dollars in 2017.
