Intimates brand Knix, which is known for creating undergarments specifically for a woman’s period, has announced a new category in its offerings: maternity.

Launching today, Knix’s maternity collection—which is available on the brand’s website and ranges from 10 USD to 55 USD—includes three styles of underwear, a leakproof nursing bra and leakproof nursing pads. The new capsule is an extension of Knix’s mission to provide customers an undergarment option that allows them to live freely at any stage of their lives.

"I was fortunate enough to be one of the first wear testers and I am so happy that I was. For one, our leakproof nursing bra was a game changer for me as I experienced an oversupply of milk at the beginning of my postpartum journey. It let me be out, at work and in the community without fear of leaks,” said Knix’s founder and chief executive officer, Joanna Griffiths to FashionUnited in an email. “I had to be there, wearing the hospital underwear and the uncomfortable belly wraps, struggling with my weak core and endless days of bleeding to understand what was missing from the market.”

In addition to the launch, Knix teamed up with the Carriage House Birth and the Empowered Birth Project to create a photo exhibit, the Life After Birth Project, which celebrates the beauty and strength seen in the postpartum experience. The exhibit opens on August 22 at 27 Greene Street and features over 250 women during their postpartum periods. The exhibit will later travel to nine cities across the U.S. including Los Angeles, Portland, and Seattle.
