Contemporary womenswear label L'Agence will be saying a big hello to Madison Avenue this month. The brand has announced they are opening a store on the prime retail street, marking their first stand-alone store in New York City and their second brick-and-mortar store since the brand started in 2008.

The store was designed by Paul Bennett Architects, and clocks in at 1000 square feet. Details are minimalist and chic, reflecting the brand's approach to understated, but still high-end style. The store will carry the complete collection of denim, dresses, knits, woven sportswear, blouses, sweaters and T-shirts.

“Opening on Madison Avenue is important for the brand presence as well as NYC being the next location in our retail footprint," said L'Agence CEO Jeffrey Rudes in a statement. "NY is the biggest market for us, so it makes sense for us to have a brick & mortar location that offers the full collection.”

L’Agence plans to expand its presence into the European market opening its first international store in London by 2021. As part of the brand’s continued business growth, about twelve retail stores are slated to open domestically and three stores internationally by 2021. Sales at the stand-alone Melrose Place, LA flagship are currently 150 percent over plan. After relaunching their e-commerce website in September 2017, the site produced 8 percent of the sales volume in 2018.

L’Agence is currently in approximately 300 doors in the U.S. with major retailers such as Intermix, Jeffrey, Elyse Walker, Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys New York, Nordstrom’s and Saks Fifth Avenue. International accounts include Lane Crawford, Holt Renfrew and Harrods.
