'La La Land' costume designer collaborates with Trunk Club

La La Land costume designer Mary Zophres recently has decided to collaborate with Trunk Club. The personal styling service for men and women is teaming with the Academy Award-nominated designer in order to reveal a new collection that is inspired by the film.

"'La La Land's' timeless themes and classic styles align perfectly with what we believe as a company: investing in essential pieces, wearing clothing that works for you and your lifestyle, and building a timeless and personalized wardrobe," Linda Bartman, chief marketing officer at Trunk Club, said in a statement. The new collection will be available for a limited time exclusively through the service. The curated trunk will offer styles illustrated in the film including brightly colored dresses paired with classic accessories as well as tailored sport coat options for men. Based around the characters of Mia and Sebastian, Trunk Club is bringing the film’s fashion to fruition. "The look of the movie and the clothes are distinctive and classic, while simultaneously modern and timeless,” Wendy Wong, vice president, Home Entertainment Marketing at Lionsgate, said in a statement. “It's a sensibility that we knew Trunk Club really understood. We are happy to have a partner that can bring the looks from the movie to life."

Current customers of Trunk Club can contact their stylist now to request the La La Land looks that were inspired by the film. The Chicago-based personalized styling service offers both virtual and in-person shopping for its customers. Trunk Club has retail locations in Boston, Charleston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington D.C. for any in-person styling sessions. In pairing with Zophres, this is the first stylized Trunk Club centered around the Academy Award winning film.
