LAFW SS2020: Salisa

Thailand-based womenswear designer Salisa Cheewapansri, the creative director behind her namesake line, Salisa, made her U.S. debut at LA Fashion Week at the Petersen Automotive Museum this October. For the Spring/Summer 2020 season, the designer presented a series of workwear and dresses in rich, warm neutrals and muted greens.
Like many fashion designers and brands today, Cheewapansri began her business the less traditional way: through Instagram. The designer founded her label in 2013 and utilized the social media platform while studying at Parson’s School of Design in New York. Cheewapansri has noticed that—with the rise of smartphones—consumers are using their phones to buy clothes and other products at growing rate.
