Plus-size womenswear brand Marina Rinaldi has decided to branch out into the U.S. more. The ready-to-wear brand just launched a new e-commerce site on November 14 expanding its reach in North America.

The company originally launched in Europe two years ago with an e-commerce site. Due to its success in that market, Marina Rinaldi has chosen to expand more in the U.S. “Our business in Europe has been growing very significantly and we have very high expectations,” Lynne Webber, managing director of the brand, told WWD. Currently the brand has already exposed itself to the U.S. market through department stores as well as opening two brick-and-mortars in New York and Beverly Hills. “We feel the online store will support our wholesale expansion and will help us grow in the U.S.,” Lynne told the publication.

The plus-size brand established itself in 1980 within the Max Mara Fashion Group. The apparel line is aimed at dressing women over the size of 46. Currently, the Italian-based company has approximately 30 stores internationally and is available in select department stores. By launching the e-commerce site, the brand is officially expanding its presence beyond the locals of New York and Los Angeles.
