Los Angeles - Net-a-Porter recently just held an event to honor women in the fashion industry. The event, which took place in West Hollywood, was entitled “Women Behind the Lens” celebrating women in fashion, photography, and film.

The event coincided with the company’s spring issue of their magazine Porter. The event, which took place at Chateau Marmont, was hosted by Porter editor-in-chief Lucy Yeomans, Amber Valletta, Amanda De Cadenet, Charlotte Tilbury, and Sam Taylor-Johnson. The luncheon’s purpose was to honor a select few women in the industry who have been successful in fashion. “We just thought it was a lovely thing to celebrate and quite timely,” Yeomans told WWD. At the West Hollywood hotel, approximately 120 attended including stylists and designers in fashion. Rachel Zoe, Alexandra Von Furstenberg, and Rachel Roy were a few of the industry influencers that attended the affair.

The event mirrored on the content of the magazine’s most recent issue empowering females. The pages were mostly shot by women fashion photographers in the industry including photographer Collier Schorr. Additionally, the issue touched on women in the same way that other major topics have been discussed. Overall, the luncheon event was about timing for the fashion crowd. “There’s race issues. There’s gender issues. We thought it was an interesting element to celebrate,” Yeomans told the publication.
