As Black Friday is typically one of the busiest days in retail of the year, it’s no surprise that sometimes a little chaos can ensue. According to KRTK, the Nike Factory store in Seattle suffered irrefutable damages due to the shopping day.

The store, located at the Seattle Premium Outlets, was left in chaotic shambles with the floor covered in shoe boxes. As reported by BuzzFeed, the shop had over 20,000 customers at the outlet. Due to the mass amount of people coming in and out of the store, it presumable that the mess was inevitable. On social media, various images and videos were released that show the sea of orange boxes that are spread across the floor, as opposed to stacked properly.

According to News Channel 5, the store’s floor was almost completely covered by the shoe boxes. Due to this mess, customers were forced to wade through the products in order to exit the store. It seemed that many shoppers contributed to this mess by trying on a pair of shoes and refusing to put the pair back where it was originally.

Part of the damage was in partly due to Nike’s bargain deals for the day. Nike had even put out an entire Black Friday collection for the day. These includes the Air Jordan 3 Retro OG, Nike Air More Uptempo QS, Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier 10, Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Premium Jacquard and more. These shoes varied from white, black, and blue color schemes ranging in price up to 205 dollars. The collection also included apparel and accessories (including an Apple Watch), which went up to 399 dollars in price. International Business Times also listed Nike as one of the best shoe deals for Black Friday, which could’ve further encouraged shoppers to come out for the discounts.

After the posts went viral on social media, it seems that the public had mostly negative reactions to the mess. The posts highlighted the craziness that ensues after Black Friday shoppers take over, which made people question the idea of the shopping day. There were various comments and tweets over Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter that showed disdain for the photos and the mistreatment of the Factory Store. While Black Friday is a tradition among holiday shopping every year for the U.S., this incident might bring light to how it affects retail workers and people in the fashion industry. As a result, it’s a possibility that the shoppers’ mess may encourage a way to regulate the shopping day more in the future.
