Okabashi recognized for manufacturing shoewear in the U.S.

Georgia-based shoe company Okabashi was recently recognized at a Made in America Certification Event. Held at the White House, the event celebrated various brands that helped to bring back jobs to America by manufacturing in the U.S. The footwear company was award with this recognition by President Trump.

The American-made shoe company started its operation originally in 1984. Since then, the company has focused its effort to promote foot health, a better environment and a better economy. The brand manufactures up to 20,000 pairs of shoes each day in their factory based in Buford, Georgia."I have a strong belief that eco-conscious, responsible manufacturing can flourish in the United States if we focus on consumers and are disciplined in our approach," said Sara Irvani, CEO of Okabashi. "I feel a strong responsibility to grow the company and create jobs for the team who, along with our consumers, are so motivated and passionate about the incredible quality of the product. Okabashi is an authentic American heritage story. We have a box of customer love letters dating back to 1984."

Since the company has been established, Okabashi has sold over 35 million pairs of footwear in their environmentally-friendly factory. The company has also increased its web sales by 500 percent in the last three months, with the addition of new chief executive officer and president Irvani. Through this recognition, it's clear that Okabashi is aiming to move forward with its brand as a made-in-America, environmentally-friendly established brand.
