Oneofakind Baton Rouge Fashion Week to Aid Area Flood Victims

The fourth annual Oneofakind Baton Rouge Fashion Week establishes an imitative to help families who were impacted by the floods that hit the Baton Rouge metro in August.

“To give back through our fashion ceremonies is the least we can do to help aid families who have shown so much support for us over the years,” says OBRFW founder Brandon D. Campbell. “Every bit of assistance matters, and I want to make sure that we do our part as an organization.”

Campbell, who resides in Little Rock, Ark, personally reached out to all previous OBRFW fashion designers, models, interns and staff to check on their well-being and see what he could do to assist.

“It was devastating. The stories that several alumni told me about their families and their losses really tugged at my heart. Although I was sad for those who lost a lot of personal belongings, I was pleased that no lives were lost,” Campbell said.

OBRFW is also known for collaborating with and donating a part of its proceeds to not for profit organizations. Previously OBRFW has donated percentages of money from ticket sales to the Louisiana Museum Foundation and the Louisiana State Museum of Art.

This season, OBRFW is asking for donations to help with OBRFW production with a portion of the proceeds raised to be issued directly to OBRFW alumni who have been impacted by the 2016 Great Flood. Also, a percentage of profits from OBRFW events will be donated to those families.

The fourth annual OBRFW will be held in Baton Rouge during February 13 through February 18, 2017.

OBRFW 2017 will showcase local fashion, entertainment and models in returning shows For Kids By Kids, BARE, and the final event – the “Big Night.”
