Menswear brand Ovadia & Sons recently just teamed with Levi's for a new collection. The two came together to introduce a fresh line of trucker jackets.
The trucker jackets will be made of denim and have a Sherpa fabric lining. With Levi's iconic reputation in denim, it's likely Ovadia & Sons tapped the brand to create a memorable, high-quality line. “Growing up in Brooklyn in the Eighties, Levi’s was the most popular denim brand,” Shimon Ovadia, co-founder of the brand, told WWD. In creating this collection, Ovadia stated "it's an honor to be able to work on this project" to the publication.
Levi's teams with Ovadia & Sons for vintage denim jacket collection
Customers were able to have a first look at the collection when rapper Jay-Z was seen wearing the jacket on his Instagram a month ago. During his 4:44 tour, he showed off one of the vintage denim trucker jackets paired with Levi's jeans. The jacket, made specifically for the musical artist, was reworked and repaired with patchwork stitch detailing using vintage Levi's jeans, according to Ovadia & Sons' Instagram account. The jacket also has Carter chainstitch on the chest and Blue, Rumi, and Sir stitched on the inside to represent Jay-Z's children.
The Jay-Z jacket was Ovadia and Son's way of showing a little preview for customers. The jacket was posted last month through Instagram without a confirmed launch date. Now, it has been confirmed that the new full line will be available later this month starting January 25, as reported by WWD. The collection will retail for 595 dollars for each piece in the assortment. There will be three styles released, also available on Levi's SoHo location, at Ovadia & Son's online store, and at Fred Segal's California location.
