Los Angeles - Known famously for his eclectic designs as well as Instagram-worthy pink wall, Paul Smith has found a new venture in fashion. In teaming with artist John Tierney, the duo has introduced a fresh collaboration inspired by the pink boutique.
After working previously together, Smith and Tierney have finally developed an apparel collection. Inspired by the pink wall itself, Tierney had painted it numerous times. Hanging in the store itself, the painting has become an integral part of the L.A. brand. The painting shows off the pink wall with a blue sky background and shows off the realistic image of the boutique. “I love the photorealist feel to [Tierney's] work and am really pleased to be able to show it at my [shop],” Smith has stated previously of the painting on his website. In the past, Tierney has also shown an exhibition at the renown Los Angeles store showcasing off various paintings.
Recently launched, the new line includes various clothing including t-shirts, swim trunks, and vibrant pink socks. The new collection includes prints of Tierney’s painting as well as a #MelrosePink hashtag, according to WWD. While the pink wall has made the boutique notably popular, it’s likely that the collaboration will be successful among locals.
