Planet Blue celebrates 20th anniversary in Santa Monica

Planet Blue, SoCal-based retailer, passed their 20th Anniversary mark this past week. In order to commemorate the event, the California-influenced style house hosted a pop-up at Full Moon Bazaar.

Once a month at the Skybar located in Santa Monica, Full Moon Bazaar hosts a pop-up event. This past week, the chosen temporary boutique included Planet Blue in honor of their 20th anniversary. Located at the pop-up were various brands that Planet Blue carries. These brands include Vanessa Mooney, Brixton, Show Me Your MuMu, Acacia, and more. The brand, which started out as an e-tailer, offers billowy dresses, stylish bikinis, printed pieces, and more. Prices for the brand range from 35 to 1100 dollars. Guests were encouraged to shop the brand as well as enjoying other festivities within the pop-up. In addition to retail clothing offered, the Thursday affair included a musical performance along with featured photo booths, drinks, and Planet Blue giveaways.

Planet Blue is known for its chic, bohemian style with a vision for lax, Southern California style. The brand is headquartered in Santa Monica and currently has 51-200 employees. Planet Blue was founded in 1995 by opening its first store in Malibu. The SoCal brand is known for its organic apparel. The pieces are typically chic separates and incorporate local specialty designer brands. The store currently has eight stores in operation based in California, New York, and Arizona. This summer, the brand will open a store in Dallas, Atlanta, Houston and Miami. In the fall, the brand will open international stores in Japan.
