Designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School have been very vocal about their progressive political views and their stance against Donald Trump's policies. The designers recently participated in the I Am an Immigrant video for W, which featured some of fashion's biggest names from Grace Coddington to Joseph Altuzzara declaring their support for immigration.

Featured at their recent runway show during New York Fashion Week, Public School's "Make America New York" hats launched online at 8 p.m. last night, March 1, and are available today March 2, as of 11 a.m. at their store at 330 Hudson Street.

The hats retail for 65 dollars, and 100 percent of net proceeds will be donated to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU.)

ACLU has become a major cause of the fashion industry crowd as well as Hollywood in the wake of Trump's presidency.

Fellow designer Prabal Gurung sent a series of pro-feminist, pro-immigration and pro-civil liberties t-shirts down the runway at his recent show during NYFW. The t-shirts, which were "see-now-buy-now" available for order online immediately after the show depicted messages such as "The Future is Female," "Love is Love" and "Revolution Has No Borders." A portion of the proceeds from these t-shirts will benefit the ACLU, Planned Parenthood and Shikshya Foundation Nepal.

While there has been question over how political fashion should get, designers certainly have not been afraid to take a stand for progressive issues. Judging by the delay in order processing times already announced for Public School's hat on their website within less than 24 hours of it becoming available, it's doing more good than harm for their sales. If you order one of Prabal Gurung's t-shirts today it wouldn't be received until March 29. The political approach appears to be a money maker.
