American fashion designer Rachel Roy recently teamed up with Macy’s for a new upcoming collection. The collaboration includes Roy’s plus-size pieces and will debut this week for some Macy’s retailers as well as on the e-commerce site.

The collection came as an idea from Roy’s clientele base. “It’s something I’ve wanted to start since my customers have been asking for larger sizes since 2006,” Roy told WWD. The pieces will be very similar to her spring collection with a larger size selection. The Curvy Collection will range in price approximately from 55 to 179 dollars in price. For Roy, the upcoming pieces serve more as an addition to the brand instead of something new. “I’m not stuck on size, it’s more of a mind-set, a brand extension, and it should be effortless,” Roy told the publication.

The newer sizes will be officially available on her own website next month. The full 45-piece line will start to be available this week through Macy’s website. Although originally from California, Roy currently now resides in New York for her fashion career. Her first collection started in August 2009 as the Rachel Rachel Roy Collection including shoewear, accessories, and sportswear. The collection is currently available at Macy’s, while Roy’s plus-size options will retail at Macy’s later this month.
