Rent the Runway—the American company that pioneered clothing and accessories rentals for the digital age—has partnered with W Hotels to bring a new approach to the way women pack (or don’t pack) for travel. Launching on Dec. 5, the apparel rental company will be launching the RTR Closet Concierge service at select W Hotel locations across the country.
According to an announcement from the brands, guests at the hotel franchise’s Aspen, South Beach, Washington D.C. and Hollywood locations will be able to experience the new program, where they will have access to a carefully curated collection of clothes based on the destination that will be waiting for guests as they arrive. The service was designed to let its customers save time and money on their travel wardrobes while forgoing the perils of deciding what to pack.
When booking a reservation at these select locations, guests have the option to partake in the service for 69 USD, which provides four styles to rent from the fashion rental company during their stays. Guests have access to Rent the Runway’s entire Unlimited Closet, as well as a select assortment tailored to each destination. These localized selections are created using Rent the Runway’s proprietary data on trending colors, designers, silhouettes, and the climate of each location.
Once guests have chosen their selection, the clothes will be for them in their hotel room on the day of the scheduled arrival. To return the clothes, guests simply have to drop off their items at the welcome desk as they check out of the hotel.
“Traveling without luggage has always been my dream,” Rent the Runway’s co-founder and chief executive officer Jennifer Hyman said in a statement. “We are thrilled to partner with W Hotels to bring the RTR Closet Concierge to life, so travelers can simply show up and have their dream closet waiting for them in their hotel room.”
Rent the Runway was founded in 2009 to create rotational closets for its clients, enabling women to rent rather than buy clothing. The company has continued to be an innovative part of today’s fashion industry and pushes the boundaries of seamless clothing rental with the RTR Closet Concierge service.
