Ryan Seacrest, the man who became a household name thanks to his hosting duties on American Idol, can now add fashion businessman to his resume. The television and radio personality has become a favorite of Macy's Inc., who carry his line of suits and furnishings. Now, Seacrest will be more than just a suit and tie guy as he prepares to expand the categories for his collection to include sweaters, outerwear, scarves, gloves, and travel bags.

In an interview with WWD, Seacrest said "I see the line in the top five at Macy’s, hopefully. We are inching in on it. It will be a lifestyle brand that will have aspects of casual, formal, athletic, workout, everything, but we are trying to manage our own expectations because we are pretty ambitious."

Seacrest will have his work cut out for him as Macy's struggles to appeal to millennials, but, with millennial customers breaking away from traditionally formal workwear attire, expanding into other categories is the best business move for his company if they want to try and court other customers to break into Macy's top 5. The upcoming line is actually specifically targeted toward style-conscious millennials. Price points for the collection range from 80 dollars to 400 dollars, a fairly moderate price point for quality clothes and perfect for that millennial in an entry level job.

For the line, Seacrest drew a lot of inspiration from prominent male media and pop culture figures including Dick Clark, Frank Sinatra, and Cary Grant. Seacrest was also encouraged by Burberry's CEO Christopher Bailey to find an intersection of accessible pricing and greatly tailored suits. Martine Reardon, Chief Marketing Officer of Macy's, told WWD that since Seacrest's brand launched at Macy's it has grown to be “one of the strongest men’s clothing brand launches we’ve had in over a decade.”

Despite Macy's Inc. voicing the line's success, specific sales figures have not been released for the line. The line is currently carried in 150 Macy's stores, but, the furnishing offerings will soon be offered in 500 stores. One of Seacrest's personal aspirations for the line is to push for more fashion.

Often in menswear it's the same thing over and over by different brands, but, Seacrest is hoping to incorporate more fashion while keeping the brand's elevated but polished aesthetic. He's also interested in pursuing a sportswear capsule collection, which is a project currently on the table being explored by Macy's Inc. The products are made by PVH Corp., Randa Accessories, and Weatherproof.

With American Idol entering its final season, Seacrest was bound to find a new project, and he hit a home run with this one. Ryan Seacrest's brand has managed to win the hearts of both the traditional fashion crowd and millennials, a hard feat to accomplish nowadays. There's only more great things on the way for his brand.
