Sachin and Babi bring decadent glamour to fashion

Babi and Sachin Ahluwalia have truly outdone themselves this season. The duo, who are famous for their embroidery, presented a collection that could go toe-to-toe with vintage couture at a villa style townhouse in the Meatpacking District on Wednesday, February 10. The duo's strong suit for the fall/winter 2016 season proved to be evening dresses.

Highlights included a black and emerald green evening gown that was worthy of the Oscar's red carpet, tiered maxiskirts, and embroidered jackets. There was a strong hint of Spanish flare in the designs with tiered ruffle skirts and bolero jackets. With the Latin American market becoming a target of the luxury sector, the team selected the perfect time to bring Spanish and Latin American influence into their clothing.

The silhouettes were kept tight, the embroidery was so meticulously done that it blended straight into the garments almost giving the impression it was a printed on pattern versus embroidery. Their expertise have spent 20 years in the world of luxury was on full display with this presentation. Not a single note was missed or stitch out of place in this prime example of contemporary luxury.
